Crane Inspections
Companies have to ensure that all Lifting Equipment is thoroughly examined before it is put into service and all relevant Certificates are available for inspection at all times. This is mandatory due to the introduction of the H&SE backed ‘L.O.L.E.R.’ regulations.
Equipment must also be visually examined before every use.
Legislation dictates that all Lifting Equipment must be thoroughly inspected at least every six months, 12 months or according to a scheme implemented by the Examiner.
Examinations must also take place after any accident or dangerous occurrence.
All examinations must be carried out by Competent People, who are independent and will make impartial decisions and also carry out any further tests they deem necessary.
Crane and Lifting Services Ltd are able to offer detailed site surveys and maintenance programmes to ensure compliance with all current legislation.
Servicing
A simple inspection will not cover any maintenance or preventative maintenance so we would strongly recommend a full service linked to your inspections in order to identify any weak links in your equipment that could lead to expensive breakdowns with loss of production or serious injury due to failure of a critical component.
Parts requiring replacement are identified before they fail so enabling you to purchase a replacement and schedule the fitting when production allows, so minimising costs, down time and extend the life of your equipment.
The Service is comprehensive and will be carried out by a fully qualified Engineer:
- Visual inspection of crane & gantry
- Lubrication of wire rope
- Inspection of rope for wear & accidental damage
- Oil level
- Brake adjustments
- Wear report (gears, brakes, wheels etc)
- Check safety equipment (limits – hook catches etc)
- Inspection of cable & long travel conductors including collectors
- Completion of service report sheets with any defects listed
Contact us now to arrange a full survey and to discuss your requirements. We will then produce a detailed quotation.
